A business is in many ways quite an abstract idea. It is a person or people trading goods or services in exchange for money. It is a financial enterprise and it can be based anywhere. Some people run a business from an office and others run it from their living room. But like anything else the place you run your business from is a reflection of your business.
Unless all your business is done online, the place where you set up shop, so to speak, will be a representation of your business. This means that when a person walks into your premises you want them to feel confident in your ability to give them what they need.
For example – if you are looking for an au pair or a nanny for your child you are not just going to go by what someone online says, you will want to meet the various candidates. The person from the nanny company will have their office fit out to look professional but also child friendly.
So there might be a traditional waiting area with chairs but there would also be a play area for the children. So mother and child can be relaxed while they wait.
The space will determine the meeting as much as you will and you want people to feel confident in your product. This means investing some time and effort in your office set up.
